Bangladesh Squad

Fans around the world are eagerly waiting to see Twenty20 cricket extravaganza. If you are fan of cricket game then you should know that ICC Twenty20 World Cup will start on 5 June, 2009. The second edition of ICC T20 World Cup will surely give a lot of excitement to its fans. Each of the teams has already announced their squad for the upcoming T20 world Cup. Recently, Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced a 15-member squad. Two uncapped players have been included in this squad. They are- Shamsur Rahman and Mithun Ali.

Bangladesh is in Pool A along with India and Scotland. No doubt, India is the strongest team in this squad. As two teams will be able to play in the second round from each table so, it is expected that Bangladesh will be the second team from this table. India will be the group champion team. However, Bangladesh is a under dog team. So, they can make any upset matter once again for India team. That is why, India will take tough preparation to protect any kind of upsetting matter. I would like to remind you that accident does not happen all the time.

It seems that unauthorized ICL has created a big problem for Bangladesh cricket. You may know that 14- Bangladeshi players joined ICL and played in a team named Dhaka Warriors. BCB banned tem from national cricket. It was really a big loss for Bangladesh cricket. It will take long time to cover this gap. So, we can see that Bangladesh team is full of a bunch of young players except a few players.

However, BCB gave chance to rebel players to come back in the national squad if they will terminate their deal with ICL and send an application to the cricket board. To join the national squad, they had to play domestic cricket. If they were proved fit and eligible to play this shortest format of cricket game. However, rebel players could not keep their faith in board members and time was too short. So, it was not possible for rebel players to join their country cricket.

I think that board members will think about the rebel players because most of the rebel players have some quality to give to his country. I saw some players like Alak Kapali, Shahriar Nafis etc were performing well. I think that if these players will contribute their performance for their country then it will be a big asset. It is sad but true that Bangladesh cricket team has not any international player. May it will take long time to make any international player. When the day will come? Mohammad Ashraful will lead Bangladesh team. Mashrafe Mortaza is the vice captain. They are the most attractive players in Bangladesh team. You should know that Mohammad Ashraful was hired in Mumbai Indians team where Mashrafe Mortaza was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders’. So, they will be the centre attraction of this tournament.

Bangladesh cricket team is always weak in batting line-up. I think coach and selectors will give more emphasize in this side. Tamim Iqbal is the opening batsman. It is thought that Junaid Siddique will make open with him. Mushfiqur Rahim is passionate batsman in the middle order batting line up. However, most of the fans will be eyeing to see world best all rounder Shakib Al Hasan. This thing can create extra pressure on him. I hope that he will show his best game both with the bat and ball.
